It has happened. An expert in artificial intelligence, under pressure to find a wife, has created and married a robot.
I like the idea that it gives some bachelors 'new hope' according to The Times, but I rather suspect it will take a long time for the law to catch up with the idea of a valid marriage to a robot being possible.
Millions of Chinese men face life without a female partner, a legacy of the one-child policy that for years pushed families to abort female foetuses. Some bachelors may now be given new hope after an engineer “married” a robot.
