Irreconcilable differences apparently now include whether you prefer Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo... at least for one football mad couple anyway. The football has created many a story and probably several divorces along the way .In divorce proceedings the irretrievable breakdown of marriage can be evidence by unreasonable behaviour and the family law team at Freeths regularly find that such behaviour will include watching the match and following your favourite club in preference to spending time with your partner ........particularly if they support a different team !
A report from Russian newspaper Argumento I Fakti has claimed that a Russian couple are set to go their separate ways after an argument broke out when the pair were watching Argentina's win against Nigeria in the final match of the group stages. The couple, named as Arsen and Lyudmila had fallen in love at a bar whilst watching the 2002 World Cup, but according to Arsen, his wife's criticism of Messi was the straw that broke the camel's back: Since the beginning of the World Cup, she mocked Messi and said he couldn't even score a penalty against Iceland. The report states that Arsen filed for divorce at the courts of the city of Chelyabinsk in the Urals the next morning.
