There are reports in the press today of a father found guilty of arranging an acid attack on his 3 year old son. It appears that the motivation for this attack was to discredit the mother who did not agree to his request for more time with the children following their separation.
It is heartbreaking to think that a parent would be prepared to inflict this much pain and suffering on a child to win a battle with the other parent.
If an agreement cannot be reached between parents, through mediation or solicitor negotiation the court process is there to determine what the most appropriate arrangements are for the child and what is in their best interests. Trying to manipulate evidence in this way, causing such significant harm to a child is an extreme example of the physical impact parental conflict can have on a child.
