I’m always interested in how the press report celebrity divorces. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's divorce has said to have finalised two years after their decision to separate.
The recent press interest has concerned the arrangements for their daughter.
Encouragingly, it appears these parents have found an out of court method to agree how best to arrange their daughter’s time, incorporating their hectic work schedules as well as dealing with how they will manage social media posts concerning her.
Parents working together to achieve a solution in the best interests of their child is more likely to lead to a conclusion that works for everyone in the longer term. Alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, also enables agreements to be put in place about issues outside of the standard staying contact and holidays eg social media, introduction of new partners etc.
If you are interested in finding out more about mediation, please get in touch.
the pair have agreed to ‘work with a counsellor to work out a specific schedule to split the holidays and custody time fairly’. They have also reportedly agreed to be allowed to post casual photos of their daughter but not to use her for any for-profit posts, including sponsorship, adverts or a social media campaign, without the other’s consent.
